Filipinos will be able to visit South Korea again soon, as the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines stated that effective June 1, 2022, it would restart the application and processing of all types of visas.

“Application and issuance of all types of visa, including tourist (C-3-9) will resume,” the message on the Embassy’s website stated.

Apart from resumed visa application and issuance, the South Korean Embassy stated that unexpired multiple-entry visas issued before to April 5, 2020, might be utilized without re-application.

It also said that the Consent for Isolation form would no longer be necessary.

The Embassy expressed optimism in a statement that the resumption of visa issuance and application will enhance travel between the two Asian nations in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak.

“More and more Koreans have been visiting the Philippines since the Philippine government lifted its ban on tourism. Soon more and more Filipinos will visit Korea,” it said.

“We hope that this resumption will boost people-to-people exchanges between Korea and the Philippines via tourism,” it added.

However, the Embassy reminded Filipinos wishing to visit South Korea that health standards for testing and quarantine for those who have not been immunized against the coronavirus are still in force.

Individuals entering South Korea who are fully vaccinated are free from quarantine, but must present a negative pre-departure RT-PCR or lab-based Antigen test.

Those who are completely vaccinated abroad, according to the Embassy, should register their vaccination status by uploading their immunization certificates and submitting essential information using the Q CODE.
