Update on Storm Ambo: TCWS NO. 3 Nears North Samar, Over 3 Areas- PAGASA

According to the 5 AM bulletin from the state weather bureau, Typhoon Ambo had further intensified and is heading to Northern Samar.

These are the latest updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) this May 14, 2020.

On a report, from GMA News, it said that the three areas were placed under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) No. 3 on Thursday morning.

This is the following areas that are raised under the following Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals:

The bureau said that Samar provinces will face heavy to intense with occasional torrential rains.

On the other hand, Sorsogon, Albay, Catanduanes, Masbate, and the rest of Eastern Visayas, will face moderate to heavy with occasional intense rains.

Typhoon Ambo was last spotted at around 230 kilometers east of the town of Catarman, Camarines Sur.

It is packed with maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour and gusts of about 185 kilometers per hour. It is moving westward at about 15 kilometers per hour.

The bureau added that storm surge of 1.0 to 3.0 meters may be faced over the coastal areas of Northern Samar, east coast of Eastern Samar, West coast of Samar, Sorsogon, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Quezon, and Aurora.

Not only will storm surge may bring large swell, it may also cause life-threatening coastal inundation.
