Just Now: DepEd Announce the Date of Class Opening For School Year 2020-2021

The Department of Education (Dep-ED) had announced the date of class opening for the next school year, 2020-2021.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the Philippines, the government had implemented class suspensions for the safety of the students. So far, there are over 9,000 cases of coronavirus that were confirmed in the country.

Currently, the entire Luzon and several provinces in Visayas and Mindanao were still placed under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). This is to contain the spread of the infection. Also, social distancing were implemented in the places where there are people.

However, some places now in the country were already placed under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ). While high-risk areas remain to be under the ECQ until May 15.

As the country is still facing on the pandemic coronavirus, students were now curious about when did really is the opening of classes for the next school year? The Department of Education (DepEd) studied the trend.

Usually, classes start in June in the Philippines. Graduation ceremonies and closing exercises usually happen in March or April.

Not so long ago, the DepEd released an update regarding the date of the opening of classes for the school year 2020-2021. Based on a recent post the ABS-CBN News, DepEd said that classes will open on August 24, 2020.

So far, there are still no further information yet about this. But as soon as there are updates, well post it right away.
