The UNESCO World Heritage Site in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, was Severely Damaged by the 7.3 Earthquake

The Historical City of Vigan was severely damaged because of the 7.3 Magnitude earthquake that occurred on July 27, 2022.

Vigan is Asia’s greatest example of a planned Spanish colonial town. Its architecture represents the fusion of cultural aspects from other parts of the Philippines, China, and Europe, resulting in a culture and townscape unique in East and South-east Asia.
