Occidental Mindoro: A Magnitude 5.3 Earthquake Hits Their Offshore

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported a magnitude 5.3 earthquake off the coast of Occidental Mindoro on Wednesday morning.

According to PHIVOLCS, the earthquake on Wednesday was an aftershock of the magnitude 6.4 tremor that struck Occidental Mindoro on Monday. It also stated that no damage or aftershocks from Wednesday’s aftershocks are predicted in the current areas.

The earthquake, which struck at 8:09 a.m., had its epicenter at 14.11°N, 119.41°E, or 082 km N, 70° W of Lubang.

The quake had a depth of 11 kilometers and was caused by tectonic activity.
