Pres. Duterte Announces Areas Under Quarantine Classifications on November 1-30

President Rodrigo Duterte announces the areas under quarantine classifications for the month of November 2020.

During the online meeting on Monday night, October 26, 2020 with Cabinet members to discuss the recommendations from the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases about the quarantine rules to be implemented in various places in the country including provinces and cities for the month of November 2020.

The recommendation was based on the progress of the COVID cases in the past few months as most of the country was placed under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) except in the area in Lanao del Sur which undergone stricter rules under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) for the entire month of October.

For the month of November effective on the first day until the 30th day of the month, the areas under General Community Quarantine are as follows:

  • Metro Manila
  • Batangas
  • Iloilo City
  • Bacolod City
  • Tacloban City
  • Iligan City
  • Lanao del Sur

The Mero Manila officials expressed willingness to continue the GCQ in the region until the end of this year but they want to lower down the restriction on movement, travel and business.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque described that the GCQ in Metro Manila is more relax with the shortened curfew hour from12:00 t0 4:00 a.m. and there will be more establishment and churches allowed to take more number of people.
