President Duterte to Donate His Salary for April to Support Fight vs COVID-19

President Rodrigo Duterte has committed to offer his salary for the month of April to support the government great undertaking to fight flattened the COVID-19 pandemic.

The world is getting troubled due to the COVID-19 pandemic infecting more than a millions of people of the deadly disease prompting leaders of all affected nations to lockdown the borders of their countries in order to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

In the Philippines, the Office of the President declared enhance community quarantine in the entire Luzon which the same pattern precautionary measure implemented in the provinces. The said precautionary measure causes discomfort to the people affected by the lockdown protocols and at the same time urges the government to release huge amount fund the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Government officials, private organization, celebrities and rich men in the country had already distributing relief goods to support indigent Filipinos. Some were extending huge amount of cash to help affected residents due to the enhance community quarantine.

On Sunday, April 5, 2020, President Duterte pledges to donate his salary for the month of April to help fund the government in the fight against the killer coronavirus disease. This is confirmed by Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo.

According to the report, the action of the president had influence to the Cabinet members, that some of them pledges to donate portion of their salary to help fund the government in the fight against the COVID-19.

The President has an estimated monthly salary of P395,858 according to the Salary Grade 33.
