DOH Secretary Francisco Duque said that the number of dead bodies at East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City has already reach 51.
Recalling, last week the Kapuso reporter Arnold Clavio became the most controversial anchor online after he exposed the real status of the cadaver of the patients that died due to coronavirus disease in the Philippines. His statement went controversial online.
He has also shared some screenshots of a conversation from a frontliner that states that the bodies of the COVID-19 casualties were piling up along the hallway of a certain hospital in Metro Manila and some health workers have been infected.
Health Sec. Francisco Duque III has said earlier that there are 51 dead bodies that have been found at the East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City. He also clarified that not all the bodies were COVID-19 patients.
Out of 51, there are just 14 dead bodies at the morgue hallway of the hospital that are patients who dies from coronavirus. While the rest had died due to other types of diseases, Duque said.
“Dumating sa punto na 51 ang patay, 14 doon ay COVID-19 positive.”
Duque has also denied the reports about the bodies that are piling up at the hospital. He also explains that the remains were properly placed at cadaver bags and stretchers.
He said, “Madali lang naman sana na tumawag sa akin, at madali ko sanang naipaliwanag. Wala pong utos ang DOH na itigil ang pag-uulat ng COVID death. Wala pong naging ganong kautusan.”
