Based on a new study about coronavirus, it was revealed that the virus can
travel into the air up to 13 feet.

The air samples from hospital wards from a COVID-19 patient has found that it can travel up to 4 meters.

According to the health authorities, the current guidelines of 13 feet or
four (4) meters is twice the distance to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This is based on the preliminary result from the study of Chinese researchers and was published on Friday by the Emerging Infectious Diseases of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The air samples were from the Huoshenshan Hospital in Wuhan where COVID patients were admitted at an intensive care unit. Also, the ward for the infected persons has the virus. “Perhaps because of gravity and airflow
causing most virus droplets to float to the ground.” There they discovered that the virus is most concentrated on the floors,

The virus is sometimes found in surfaces such as in computer mice, trashcans, bed rails, and doorknobs.

These consider the hot spots for the virus that stays for several hours.
They said, “Furthermore, half of the samples from the soles of the ICU medical staff shoes tested positive. Therefore, the soles of medical staff shoes might function as carriers.”

Recently, the World Health Organization said that the risk that the virus could be transmitted is through the air.

So far, there is no hospital staff there have tested positive for the virus,
however, they should still observe “proper precautions” to prevent the
transmission and infection.
