Tarlac City: 2 Patients Died Due to COVID-19, Fatality Count Raises to 4

Two more patients in Tarlac that is under investigation (PUI) have died, which makes the province’s fatality count to 4. Community quarantines are implemented to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The death of the PUI was recorded in the towns of Concepcion, Camiling, Sta. Ignacia and Paniqui. On Thursday (March 18 ), one died while the other one had died earlier on Wednesday (Mar. 19).

Arvin Cabalu a provincial information officer said, the Department of Health (DOH) hasn’t confirmed if the 4 person under investigation is tested positive for COVID-19, as the province is still waiting for lab test results from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine.

The latest patient had died from acute respiratory failure, severe pneumonia, and cardiac arrest. While the previous one died on Monday (March 16) and Tuesday (March 17). One of them died from emphysema and the fourth fatality was a bus driver in Metro Manila who went home to Tarlac before the National Capital Region was locked down.

Currently, 27 PUIs are still being monitored in different hospitals in Tarlac. They had also included the resident from Mangatarem town in Pangasinan province.

However, two PUI from Nampicuan town in Nueva Ecija province has been sent home.
