Senate President Vicente Sotto III and seven other senators of the Philippines have submitted samples for the COVID-19 testing.
According to Senator Sotto, they were all tested by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine at his office along with the seven senators including himself, Senators Pia Cayetano, Panfilo Lacson, Imee Marcos, Grace Poe, Ramon Revilla Jr, and Francis Tolentino.
All of them were not showing symptoms but they consider to test themselves for them to be sure.
He said that the laboratory test results are expected in two days.
On Monday night March 16, 2020, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri was tested positive for COVID-19 despite being asymptomatic.
Recently, Senators Sherwin Gatchalian and Nancy Binay have also tested negative for the virus. They tested for the COVID-19 test after a resource person who recently attended a hearing tested positive for the coronavirus disease, or COVID-19.
