Senator Migz Zubiri undergoes the COVID-19 test and it came out positive. However, according to the Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque, the result might be a “false positive”.

Sen. Zubiri has shared on his Facebook Page on March 16 that he took the test on Friday. And as a result, he tested positive of novel coronavirus disease 2019.

Sen. Zubiri said, “I received a call from Sec. Duque on my condition. My heart sank with what he had said but I’m uplifted with the fact that I am asymptomatic and have no fever or cough nor am I weak or have any headaches”. He also said that taking a self-quarantine last Wednesday was the best decision he has ever made.

He also encouraged his fellow Filipinos to follow orders of the health authorities and take the necessary precautions in order to avoid getting infected with the virus. Netizens expressed sympathy and prayers for the senator.

Health Secretary Duque said in a report from GMA News on Tuesday that the COVID-19 rest results of Senator Migz Zubiri may be “false positive”.

The DOH head said. “Kung hindi nga lang tayo medyo may limitasyon pa sa testing capacity, gusto ko sanang ipasuri siya ulit kasi hindi naman talagang 100% [accurate]… mayroon din kahit papaanong nakakalusot na mga false positive”.

Based on the report, Duque wants Zubiri to repeat the test but first, the senator should finish his 10-day quarantine. He said, “Ang mahalaga wala siyang sintomas,”

On the other hand, senator Sherwin Gatchalian and Nancy Binay have tested negative of the COVID-19. However, presidential son and Davao City Vice Mayor Baste Duterte is now being monitored after showing symptoms of the coronavirus.
