Health Chief: COVID-19 Test Kits Will Arrive in the Country this Weekend

Coronavirus Disease 2019 test kits with around 125,000, will arrive in the Philippines this weekend from South Korea and China.

One of the top essential things that every country needs now amidst this health crisis due to the COVID-19 disease is the test kits. Basically, this device is used to test the persons and to determine if he is positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19 or not.

Good thing that around 125,000 test kits for the novel coronavirus will be arriving in the Philipines this weekend, 25,000 from South Korea and 100,000 from China.

Those test kits from China were donations, on the other hand, test kits from South Korea were not defined if those were bought or donated. The kits are for the elderly and patients showing the symptoms of the disease.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque said as on the ABS-CBN “Tinututukan ko na iyong Bureau of Customs at FDA (Food and Drug Administration) ay bilisan ang release kasi nga iyon ang number one nating kakulangan,”.

The test kits will arrive at 5 A.M. tomorrow.

However, the COVID-19 test kits by the University of the Philippines will be available in a span of two to three weeks. On Thursday, March 20, the country has 217 confirmed cases, 17 deaths, and 8 people who have been recovered from it.

Currently, the entire Luzon was put under lockdown. Everyone was under home quarantine also, banned public transport, and shutting of some companies and adopt work from home schemes except medical personnel, journalists, government officials, and essential service providers.

These were all made to prevent the spread of the virus which continues to infect more people at a terrifying place.
