COVID-19 Announcement to PH: URGENT PLEA TO THOSE WHO ATTENDED THE KHURUJ IN MALAYSIA!

In the attempt to contain the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19 in the country, President Rodrigo Duterte has implemented “enhance community quarantine” in the entirety of Luzon.

In connection to the said effort of the government, the 82nd Infantry Battalion posted advisory warning to avoid people who have participated the KHURUJ in Malaysia for the reason that the COVID-19 cases spikes up to 190 new cases in one (1) day with majority of the patients having history traced attending the “ijtimak tabligh” gathering that took place at the Jamek Sri Petaling Mosque.
According to the report, the Malaysian Health Minister said that 77 of the new confirmed coronavirus cases were linked to the said Muslim religious gathering with 16,000 people attended the said event. It is also reported, that 14,500 were Malaysians while the rest were international participants were coming from different countries including the Philippines from Lanao del Sur who was later tested positive of COVID-19 and admitted in Cotabato.
According to the post of the 82nd Infantry Battalion there were 215 attendees from the Philippines. Traces shows that most of them were from BARMM.
Health authorities in the area are now calling concern persons to contact immediately to the local health units through the contact number indicated here below.
The health authorities also advised to conduct self-quarantine and cooperate contact tracing.
