The Ceres Liner Buses will continue ferrying passengers and cargoes amid the Community Quarantine due to COVID-19.

Vallacar Transit, Inc. in Bacolod City will continue to move buses inside and outside from Bacolod City terminals to other points in Negros Occidental and Oriental despite the order from the city and the provincial governments.

VTI media relations officer Jade Marquez-Seballos told NDB (Non-Directional Beacon) that Ceres will continue to serve commuters from Bacolod and back.

They said that If they will not go on with its trips, the (LTFRB) Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board will punish them.

Seballos said that “there is no order from LTFRB stopping us from deploying buses despite the closure of Negros Occidental borders and the placing of Bacolod under a general community quarantine.”

She said that the last trip to Cebu from Bacolod was departed at 1:30 this morning and expected to arrive at Cebu City by 9:30 a.m.

However, there are still some areas outside the Negros Occidental that the incoming vehicles are no longer allowed to enter.

She said that “Ceres buses will ferry passengers up to areas outside the province where they can be allowed in light of quarantine measures other local government units are implementing.”

On the other hand, the passengers going to Dumaguete City are only up to the boundary of Kabankalan and Mabinay City because that is the boundary of Negros Oriental and Negros Occ.

Seballos also added that “buses and terminals are being disinfected, and social distancing inside Aircon buses are being imposed.”
