JUST IN: Results of 8 Suspected Coronavirus in Negros Oriental Finally Arrived

The swab result of the eight (8) Patients Under Investigation (PUI) in Negros Island due to a suspected coronavirus which was sent to Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) finally arrived.

According to the record of the health authorities, the Chinese nationals, 38-year-old woman and her partner, 44-year-old were the first recorded positive of coronavirus in the country. These two (2) were coming from Wuhan City, China. They have traveled history from Hong Kong and arrived in Manila. From there, tracing back their travel history in the country, they have visited Cebu and Dumaguete prior to their confinement in San Lazaro Hospital in Manila.

The 44-year-old Chinese national died of coronavirus. His death indicates as the first case record of coronavirus patient died outside China.

The couple who were confirmed positive of coronavirus were the source of spreading of the suspected 2019-nCoV in the country.

Health authorities in the Negros Island traces with the people on contact with the patients including the 8 suspected patients whose swab test were sent to RITM.

Recently, the report published by the ABS-CBN News shows the RITM of the 8 patients of suspected coronavirus in Negros Island and they’re all NEGATIVE. But the hospital did not allow the patients to leave the confinement facility until the patient’s confirmatory result is cleared.
