Results of Baby Suspected Coronavirus in Palawan Arrives, Here is the Result

The baby in Palawan who was considered as Patient Under Investigation (PUI), the swab test result of the infant has already arrived.

There were people in the Philippines under monitoring due to the confirmed cases of the 2019-nCoV which believed spreading in the country. Based on the record of the health authorities, there are three (3) confirmed cases being monitored in the hospitals.

The first patient tested positive for coronavirus was a 38-yearold Chinese woman from China in Wuhan City, the center of the outbreak. She came in the Philippines, in Manila via Hong Kong flight. Her partner, the 44-year-old who is also a Chinese national was tested positive also of the coronavirus and died few days after confinement at San Lazaro Hospital in Manila. The death of the 44-year-old Chinese national was the first recorded death case of coronavirus outside China.

Immediately, authorities issued order to trace of the people in contact with the Chinese nationals suspected of coronavirus in the country and put into strict monitoring.

Based on the report published by the ABS-CBN News, one of the person being monitored by the health authorities based on the current record is the infant from Palawan. Swab test was sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) for confirmation.

Recently, the swab test of the infant has arrived and according to the health authorities, result is NEGATIVE of 2019-nCoV. The hospital has released the patient after all the tests are cleared.
