According to a White House official, the US will announce a new round of security assistance to Ukraine on Wednesday, as Western leaders face rising pressure to stop Russia’s shelling of civilians and peace negotiations make slow movement.

According to the official, President Joe Biden will announce an additional $800 million in military aid on Wednesday, which is anticipated to include more anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles that have helped bring Russia’s three-week-old incursion to a stop.

The action will coincide with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s historic virtual speech to the United States Congress, during which he is anticipated to strengthen calls for NATO partners to intervene immediately to stop Russian aggression.
