Typhoon Betty had weakened into a severe tropical storm, according to the state weather bureau PAGASA.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration issued the most recent weather forecast in the country on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Betty will have an impact on the weather in the country.

Betty weakened into a severe tropical storm as it traveled northward, according to PAGASA. It was last seen 505 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, with sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 135 kilometers per hour.

Wind gusts will be frequent over northern Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands, the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, the Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Northern Samar, and the northern portion of Samar.

Monsoon rains will also fall across Occidental Mindoro, Antique, and northern Palawan, including the Cuyo, Calamian, and Kalayaan Islands.

Over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas, cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms is forecast. The sky over Mindanao will be partly overcast to cloudy, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
