WEATHER UPDATE: Low Pressure Area Nears Surigao del Sur, January 11, 2023

Christine

The state weather bureau, PAGASA, expects that a low pressure area (LPA) and a shear line will both bring rainfall to some areas of the Philippines on Wednesday.

PAGASA reported that the LPA was last sighted 295 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, in its 24-hour public weather forecast.

Additionally, the eastern portions of southern Luzon and Visayas may be affected by a shear line.

State meteorologists predict cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms across the Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao as a result of the shear line and LPA. This indicates that landslides or flooding might occur as a result of moderate-to-heavy rain.

The northeast monsoon, or amihan, is bringing cloudy skies and rain to be likely across the Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro.

Due to the amihan, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will also have partly cloudy to cloudy sky with light rainfall.

Stay tuned for more updates.
