PAGASA: LPA To Bring Heavy Rains Over Parts Of PH

According to the national meteorological service PAGASA, a low-pressure system will bring moderate to heavy rains to various regions of the nation.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration published the most recent weather report for the nation on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

The country’s weather will be impacted by the low-pressure area, shear line, and amihan.

According to PAGASA, a low-pressure area that is located inside the Philippine area of responsibility was last seen 380 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. 

In Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao, it will cause moderate to heavy rains.

Over Eastern and Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Negros Occidental, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Bicol Region, Romblon, and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao, the LPA and shear line will bring cloudy weather conditions with isolated to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms.

“Sa ngayon po ay mababa pa rin ang tsansa na ito ay magiging isang bagyo subalit patuloy ang mga pag-uulan dito sa may bahagi ng Visayas, Mindanao, and even southern Luzon and take note po, minsan lumalakas ang pag-ulan, generally moderate to heavy rains po ito,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estreja said.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly overcast to cloudy conditions as a result of the amihan.The affected areas’ residents were urged by the weather agency to take precautions against flooding and landslides that could result from moderate to heavy to intense rains.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough, according to PAGASA.
