After winning P224 million in the Emirates Draw, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Dubai becomes an instant millionaire.

An OFW, Russel Tuazon, cried with joy after receiving the historic grand prize in the Emirates Draw on January 13. The storekeeper from the Philippines got AED 15,000,000, which is equivalent to 224 million.

Russel made the choice to travel overseas when he was nineteen years old in order to help his siblings and parents. He got a job in the United Arab Emirates at a well-known restaurant.

Considering his tiredness, he kept on working in order to provide for his family. Russel also met the “love of his life” in the UAE. According to the story, Russel had no clue he’d become a millionaire so fast after he joined the game.

His efforts and generosity appear to be the cause to listen to his life dreams. Russell said that the fortunate numbers were a combination of his loved ones’ birthdays.

“I selected the numbers 6—the month of my birthday; 29—the date of my birth; 34—my age; 17—my son’s birthday; 25—my sister’s birthday; and 22—my mother’s birth date,” Russel spoke to The Filipino Times.
