The actress clarified her “Battle Scars” social media post, which she made amid reports that she and McCoy de Leon had split up.

The breakup of Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon saddened many people. The Kapamilya actor confirmed last week that they are no longer together. According to him, there was no third party involved in their breakup, and he was unable to simply “take” matters. His statement came amid rumors that he was dating a non-showbiz girl named Mary Joy Santiago.

McCoy and Elisse’s relationship resulted in the birth of a daughter named Felize. When the former couple introduced their daughter, it came as a pleasant surprise to the public, particularly the former couple’s fans and supporters.

McCoy and Elisse met on the set of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), where they grew closer and developed romantic feelings for each other. They became real-life lovers as well as loveteam partners after their PBB stint. They did, however, split up after two years.

Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon had been separated for a year before they were reunited in each other’s arms. They were the epitome of a small, happy family. However, their love story has come to an end once more.

McCoy de Leon had a post with the caption “Battle Scars” a month before he confirmed his breakup with Elisse Joson. The actress recently explained her post.

According to an article on Pep, Elisse revealed at the renewal of her contract as an endorser of Cathy Valencia Advanced Skin Clinic in BGC that she meant internal battle scars when she made the post.

“There’s a lot going on for me. Uhm, you know, personal life, professional life, work life… yung sabay-sabay,” Elisse stated.

Elisse claims that as Felize’s mother, she learned a lot about herself. She admitted that she used to believe she was brave enough to face various challenges in life, but now that she is a mother, she considers every step she takes.

“Now that I’m a mom, parang ngayon talaga nate-test na you don’t decide for yourself anymore, not for yourself anymore. But every decision talaga kailangang pag-isipan,” said the actress.

According to the article, Elisse Joson stated that she and McCoy de Leon “grow together” during an interview a week after she made the “Battle Scars” post. She emphasized that instead of simply leaving when one finds something dislikeable about the other person, one should work on it.

“Now it’s more on kahit na may mga araw na walang kilig, you know that you love each other. Parang yun kasi ang mas importante kapag mom and dad ka na,” the actress stated.
