The eight participating films from this year were awarded on Tuesday by the 48th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), with the psychological horror film “Deleter” winning the most trophies.

Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, and Best Picture were given to “Deleter.”

The 48th MMFF also awarded director Mikhail Red the “Best Director” award.

With few pandemic-related restrictions, the 2022 Gabi ng Parangal, which was held at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City, gathered the most guests in three years.

While last year’s festival had tight restrictions on both the number of cinemas and the number of public events, such as the traditional Parade of Stars and its awards night, the 2020 edition was entirely virtual.

The 2022 MMFF, which has the “Balik Saya” theme to mark the theaters’ full comeback, also welcomed the revived moviegoers on Tuesday night’s Gabi ng Parangal.
