Rod Cornejo stated in response to his niece’s lawsuit against Vhong Navarro, “no retreat, no surrender.”

Model-stylist Deniece Cornejo and Showtime host Vhong Navarro are still embroiled in a legal battle. The model, who claimed the actor-comedian cheated her in a condo incident in 2014, filed charges against him.

Navarro is currently being held at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). The wife of the Showtime host revealed that recent events have re-triggered her husband’s trauma. They had not anticipated the recent events. A warrant for his arrest was issued a few days after they celebrated their wedding anniversary.

Navarro, for his part, claimed that he was the victim of the incident. He filed a serious illegal detention case against Cedric Lee and his alleged attackers. The Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) dismissed Lee’s appeal to dismiss the charges filed against him by the Showtime host. He appealed to the Court of Appeals.

The Court of Appeals issued its decision on Cedric Lee’s appeal to have Vhong Navarro’s case dismissed. The appeal was dismissed by the court.

Vhong Navarro is still being held at the NBI, and a bail petition is being heard. Deniece Navarro testified as a witness at Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 69 during the 4th bail hearing. According to an ABS-CBN News report, the actor-camp comedian is hopeful that the court will allow him to post bail.

Cornejo’s legal counsel, Attorney Howard Calleja, stated that the bail hearing is still ongoing and that Cornejo will testify again on November 10, 2022. Rod Cornejo, Deniece Cornejo’s uncle, commented on the ongoing legal battle between his niece and the actor.

“No retreat, no surrender! Imagine 8 years kang nakabitin, nasira ang career mo, lahat ng mga negosyo mo naapektuhan, then 6 months ka nakakulong? Compromise? Hindi tama,” Deniece Cornejo’s uncle stated.

According to the report, Atty. Calleja emphasized that the cases are still being heard and that no agreements have been reached between the two (2) camps. More updates may be forthcoming.
