After a long absence, the public finally saw controversial model Deniece Cornejo again.

On November 7, 2022, he appeared as a witness in the fourth bail hearing for the ràpe case he filed in January 2014 against comedian-TV host Vhong Navarro at Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69.

Vhong attended the bail hearing via video conference because he was detained at the National Bureau of Investigation’s detention facility in Manila.

Deniece filed ràpe and làsciviousness charges against Vhong on January 17, 2014, alleging that the TV host and comedian àbused her in her Taguig condominium unit.

The alleged làscivious acts occurred on January 22, 2014.

Ràpe cases are either non-bailable or bailable.

However, Vhong’s lawyer, Atty. Alma Mallonga, has been told by the court that his client will be released on bail for the time being.

Vhong’s collaborating counsel, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, will inquire about Deniece’s testimony from yesterday.

Vhong’s legal counsel claims that, “Deniece was presented in court yesterday. She had her direct exam. Then cross examination by the prosecution was conducted.

“However, due to lack of material time, the cross examination was suspended for continuance on the next hearing on November 10.”

Deniece will return to the Taguig Regional Trial Court on Thursday, November 10, the final day of the bail hearing, which is expected to be attended by Jed Fernandez, the last prosecution witness.

“With or without the last witness Jed Fernandez, the court said the petition for bail hearing will be finished,” stated by Atty. Garduque.
