On Tuesday morning, a fire broke out within the ABS-CBN property on Sgt. Esguerra Avenue in Quezon City. While on air on TeleRadyo, Amy Perez demonstrated “grace under fire.”
The fire alarm abruptly sounded, telling staff members inside the ABS-CBN Main Building to leave while they were giving speeches on “Sakto.”
Instead, Perez quietly attempted to finish a piece of news before she and her co-hosts left.
Perez said that their program must take a break at this moment live on air.left.
Despite what happened, Perez assured viewers that they were all safe.
“Sorry guys, we had to cut our morning news show earlier. Had to evacuate after smoke alarms went off at the ABS-CBN main building. Thanks for the kind messages. We’re all okay. And heading back to work,” he wrote.
Aside from TeleRadyo, ANC was also forced to pause its broadcasts briefly owing to the fire.
