The water level in the Marikina River hit the first alert level on Tuesday afternoon as a result of the strong tropical storm Florita.

The river’s water level reached 15 meters as of 4:38 p.m., according to Marikina City Rescue 161’s Facebook Live.

A 15-meter water level triggers the first warning, indicating that inhabitants in neighboring locations should prepare to evacuate.

According to the Marikina Public Information Office, all eight floodgates leading to the Manggahan Floodway have been opened.

Florita maintains her vigor after landfall and arrives at Cagayan.
As of 4 p.m., the Bureau of Fire Protection Marikina reported that no flooding incidents had occurred in the city.

As Florita barrels into northern Luzon, work and schooling have been stopped at all levels in Metro Manila and select regions.
