84-year-old Grandma Burned by Own Children & Grandkids in Misamis Oriental

In Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, a vulnerable grandmother diéd after being burned by her very own children and grandchildren.

According to police, a family in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, reportedly set fire to the 84-year-old grandmother, Teofila Camungay. The elderly lady passed away as a result of a third-degree burn to the body.

As according Maj. Teodoro de Oro, officials believed the suspects belonged to the Philippine Benevolent Christian Missionary (PBCM). He further stated that the family blames the old woman for their difficulties and pains.

PBCM also criticized the horrific act and assisted in bringing the suspects to justice. The authorities arrested 11 people who were engaged in the déath of Camungay. The accused will face parricide charges.

One of the suspects said that he was only following instructions. Other members of the family continued to refuse to provide a statement.
