Ruffa Gutierrez’s camp, represented by her lawyer, Atty. Bryant Gamonnac Casiw issued an official statement in response to the claim that she kicked her housekeepers out.

On July 11, the actress’s lawyer issued a statement on the matter. Atty. Casiw stated that Ruffa Gutierrez did not terminate or refuse to pay the two workers’ salaries. The statement further stated that it was the assistants who quit and persisted on leaving despite the village association’s clearance procedures.

“This fake news is a black propaganda/smear campaign against our Client as she is playing the character of former First Lady Imelda Marcos in an upcoming movie,” the statement said.

It was also claimed that on July 7, when Ruffa was not at home, the assistants “became unruly and turned berserk.” According to the statement, the helpers phoned the actress because they have chosen to leave since they can no longer keep up with her filming schedules.

According to Ruffa’s lawyer, a commotion occurred when the two assistants insisted on leaving without following the proper procedure. Atty. Casiw further claimed that the helpers broke their signed Confidentiality, Non-disclosure, and Working Agreement.

The Ruffa camp further stated that they afterwards discovered that the helpers had already made arrangements to move to a neighbor in the village.

“This issue could be resolved privately. Despite what happened, our Client wishes the Helpers well,” the actress’s lawyer said.

The Ruffa Gutierrez camp also stated that they will investigate all legal steps and procedures to solve this situation, particularly against the spreader of false news.
