The Weeknd’s upcoming HBO series will feature Jennie Kim of the K-pop girl group Blackpink.

Fans were quick to notice Jennie in the “The Idol” clip, which was uploaded on The Weeknd’s YouTube page. Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan, Debby Ryan, Rachel Sennott, Steve Zissis, Hari Nef, and Juliebeth Gonzalez will join her.

The Weeknd and Reza Fahim will be joined in the production by Sam Levinson, creator of the Emmy-winning series “Euphoria.”

Blackpink’s management firm, YG Entertainment, previously said that the top K-pop girl group is in the “final stages of recording its album,” which is scheduled to be released in August.

Their most recent full-band endeavor was “The Record,” the band’s first full-length album, which was published in October 2020 and sold over a million copies.

Rosé and Lisa released solo albums last year. Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa performed in a prior performance in Manila in February 2019.
