MANILA, Philippines – Miss Universe queens Pia Wurtzbach, Iris Mittenaere, and Demi-Leigh Tebow continued their advocacy work with Smile Train by raising awareness about clefts.

Smile Train, the world’s biggest cleft-focused nonprofit, greeted the three former Miss Universe titleholders ahead of their Miss Universe Philippines 2022 hosting responsibilities. The three beauty queens visited with some Smile Train recipients.

“Smile Train is appreciative for the Miss Universe queens’ and Miss Universe Organization’s persistent support.” “Their worldwide effect and genuine concern for our patients are critical to furthering our mission,” said Smile Train South East Asia Vice President Kimmy Coseteng-Flaviano.

“With their help, we aim to reach more patients and families and continue to give them with the treatment they require.”

During the COVID-19 outbreak, Smile Train continued to deliver complete cleft treatment in the Philippines. Smile Train has financed 5,490 cleft surgeries in the Philippines from the start of the epidemic in March 2020 until April 2021. Furthermore, with the launch of the country’s first Filipino mobile Smile Train Speech App and the Virtual Telehealth Program, Smile Train recently received recognition from peers in the communications industry from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP); Silver Anvil Award and in the Asia-Pacific (Gold) Stevie Awards 2022.
