Two unarmed persons were shot resulting their untimely death by a certain Jonel Nuezca, a police officer in Paniqui, Tarlac.
The shooting incident was caught on the camera and shared on social media sites then immediately went viral as many people want to see how it was happening while some on the online world were seeking justice for the victims.
“May nagputok ng boga,” Lt. Col. Noriel Rombaoa, chief of Paniqui Police said.
“So, magkapitbahay lamang sila, narinig nitong pulis so pumunta dun sa bahay nung biktima at nagkaroon sila ng pagtatalo.”
“At that time, na ungkat yung matagal na nilang alitan tungkol sa “Right of Way”, so dun po nagsimula ang pagtatalo na na umabot sa pamamaril ng ating suspect.”
Jonel Nuezca’s daughter shouted at Sonya saying, “My father is a policeman!”
“I don’t care eh eh eh eh eh,” Sonya replied to his daughter. Nuezca got angry with Sonya’s reply as he instantly pulled his gun towards her head saying “P*tangina gusto mo tapusin kita ha?”
“Parang nainsulto siguro hanggang nagkasagutan ang anak niya at ang matandang biktima. Siguro nawindang ang isip niya, dun niya pinaputukan ang mga biktima,” Lt. Col. Noriel Rombaoa, chief of Paniqui Police stated.
The 52-year-old Sonya Gregorio was shot in the head first, followed by his son Frank Gregorio who is 25 years old. Based on the video, it can be seen that Sonya was shot twice.
The Gregorios and Nuezcas were neighbors and also had a past record of arguing about the right of way, but was fixed in the barangay.
About an hour after shooting the Gregorios, he surrendered to the Pangasinan Municipal Police Station on Sunday. The authorities stated that he surrendered around 6:19 p.m. on December 20.
“Sa mga kasamahan po natin sa pulisya dapat self-control kasi nga maximum tolerance tayo, tayo ang may armas. Kung merong umaagrabiyado sa atin merong right forum po riyan, puwede nating kasuhan, not to the point na gagamitin natin ang baril natin,” Nuezca stated.
