The Roman Catholic highest leader of faith, Pope Francis is considered the first pontiff to endorse and support same-sex couple and he desired to protect them by civil union laws.

The pontiff suggested that the rights of the homosexuals should be protected by civil union laws. He said this statement on his own natural dialect emphasizing the rights of gay people.

“Homosexual people have a right to be in a family. They are children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out or be made miserable over it,” he said.

“What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered. I stood up for that,” he said.

This statement of the pontiff was made when he gives his comments in a new documentary “Francesco” by Oscar-nominated director Evgeny Afineevsky that was released on Wednesday.

He emphasizes the importance of creating a civil law to protect the same-sex couple and made assurance to stand by on it.

“What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered. I stood up for that,” he added.

Pope Francis has been known for supporting some kind of legal protection for the rights for gay couples even since the time when he was archbishop of Buenos Aires over seven years ago.

The Roman Catholic regarded homosexuals based on their teaching that its tendencies are not sinful but homosexual acts really are. This reminds that homosexuals deserve treatment with dignity but it also clarifies that the church is against the gay marriage.

The remark of Pope Francis about the issue is very clear to the public that he is supporting same-sex couples and his actions give a new religious perspective in the relationship between the church and LGBTQ people.

According to Father James Martin, a Jesuit priest and author of “Building a Bridge,” a book about Catholic ministry to homosexuals, he explains that Pope Francis manner of regarding the home-sexual couples shows his overall pastoral approach to establish harmony between the church and the people no matter what they are.

On the other hand, the church leader must abide to what is written in the Bible as the only book credible of teaching about spiritual life that promised everlasting life. The biblical teaching must not be compromised. As a matter of fact, somewhere in the book of 1Corinthians 6:9-10 says…

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Now, it is clear from the teaching of the Bible how to regard with the issue like the homosexuals and sodomites as we know where they will go. If the religious leaders disobey and teacher other than what the Bible teaches, then, he might not be the right religious leader to follow.
