“I did not kill anyone, or order any killing” this is the statement of President Rodrigo Duterte when he was under fire for the alleged human rights abuses that is linked to his campaign to eradicate illegal drugs in the country.

In this video attached to this page for you to watch, President Duterte insisted that he did not killed anyone or ordered anyone to murder a person.

However, the President previously said that he could not stop the killing of criminals as long as there is a raging war against the user and pusher of illegal drugs in the country. This is simply means that during the operation on the war on drug, if the suspect would attempt to fight back against the authorities, there could be a possible bloody encounter between the authorities against the suspects that would result killings in both sides.

President Duterte challenges any concern parties to ask the police to verify the matter or maybe they can ask his Cabinet members.

“Magtanong ka ng isang pulis dito sa Pilipinas, magtanong ka kay Secretary (Eduardo) Año sa DILG (Department of Interior and Local Government), magtanong ka kay (Delfin Secretary) Delfin Lorenzana, at may inutusan ba akong taong sinabi, “Patayin mo ito si Mr. Santos, Edmundo Santos, o patayin mo ito si Juan dela Cruz.’ I never do that (You can ask a policeman in the Philippines, you can ask Secretary Año of DILG, you can ask Delfin Lorenzana if I ever ordered, ‘Kill Mr. Santos, Edmundo Santos, or kill Juan dela Cruz.’ I never do that),” he said.

Duterte is known for his principle to fight against illegal drugs and crimes. In his past political position as Mayor of Davao City report said he was joining police operations to neutralize criminals. Once he also claimed that he killed someone when he was a teenager.

The human rights advocates in the country as well as foreign nationals have denounced Duterte’s war on drugs due to concerns of alleged extrajudicial killings and other abuses linked to state forces.
