Frontliner Jesryl Bancaya Technical Staff of Councilor Israel Salanga Died for COVID After Hospital Refused Admission

COVID-19 frontliner in the city of Bacolod died yesterday, August 23, 2020 without proper care from the hospital.

The 33-year-old frontliner, Jesryl Bancaya from Barangay Alijis died after returning on their house from looking the hospital in Bacolod for admission but no avail due to the reason of overwhelming COVID patients in the city. Bancaya was brought to Cadiz hospital and told the medical incharge that the patient is a frontliner but still no vacancy to accommodate him. He brought back home and died in their house.

According to Councilor Ayasha Joy Villaflor, Bancaya who serve as incharge of orienting returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW’s) died due to cardiac arrest.

Villflor told reporter that the last time she saw Bancaya was on the 11th of August during the wake of her father. Villaflor said that the same day Bancaya fetched for the last time of the returning OFWs from the airport. It was raining on the night as he went back home drenched. The following day after, Bancaya developed a fever for nine days but thought it as ordinary flu because of the season.

But yesterday Bancaya had seizure and brought to several hospital in the city of Bacolod and Cadiz City hospital but he was not accommodated due to overwhelming patients. Villaflor noticed that Bancaya’s face turn bluish when he was brought back to their house and later give up.

However, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran confirmed that Bancaya was positive for COVID-19 disease.
