COVID-19 cases in Cebu City are increasing and currently, it has the highest number of cases in the Philippines. Since June 16, the city was brought back to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to avoid the spread of virus.
One of the infected individuals was the mother of a veteran actress, Chandra Romero. Remedios “Meding” Romero died of COVID-19 in Cebu City. Few weeks ago, Chandra Romero was seeking for plasma donors for her mother Meding.
Sadly, Chandra’s mother did not survive the coronavirus disease as she died on June 30 at Cebu Doctors Hospital in Cebu City.
Chandra’s sister, Marie Romero Wood, thanked those who prayed for the recovery of their beloved mother.
“In behalf of my family, we deeply appreciate the overwhelming prayers, love and support during this difficult time. To the CDH staff, the frontliners who tirelessly cared for our Mother and countless others, we can’t thank you enough. Special thanks to Dr. Tan, Dr. Barbas, Resident Dr. Shazna Bersaval and Dr. Lim. Let’s continue to pray for the soul of our Mother, Remedios Romero, may she rest in peace with the Lord. Amen. We love you very much, Mother, until we meet again.” She stated.
