The issue of ABS-CBN franchise becomes the most talk issue in the online world as well as local news media following after the Congress decided to grant temporary franchise until October 2020.

According to Speaker of the House of Representatives Allan Peter Cayetano, the provisional temporary franchise of the ABS-CBN is granted because of the necessity in the public service to bring information to the Filipinos in the country and abroad citing the crisis in the media network during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The statement of Allan Peter Cayetano regarding the temporary franchise of the ABS-CBN created suspicious and malicious issue to other media broadcasters.

According to the veteran broadcaster of SMNI News reporter, Mike Abe, the granting of the temporary franchise to the ABS-CBN is an insult to other network who have faithfully complied the government requirements to air the program.

Mike Abe explained that not only the ABS-CBN has the capability of bringing news and updates to the Filipinos, as to the reason for the Congress to grant temporary franchise that seems appeared that ABS-CBN Network is the only media broadcasting company to reach every corner of the country and the other media networks in the country are useless.

Mike Abe also questioned the decision of Cayetano in granting the temporary franchise to the ABS-CBN without hearing the voice of the people. Mike Abe then ask if Cayetano has read the statement of Jay Sonza.

In the video track 6:57, the broadcaster said “something wrong Mr. Speaker” and he immediately recalled the statement of Jay Sonza saying “magkano ang usapan nito?”

Mike Abe recalled of President Duterte’s war against corruption and thinking that Mr. Cayetoano is no longer in the leadership direction of President Duterte. He also clarifies that he is the one airing in his program about the issue of the ABS-CBN franchise since day one.
