A man who was in the list of the Department of Health (DOH) as Person Under Investigation (PUI) in Marikina City died without the testing result of the coronavirus disease.

The patient was identified as Edgar Salayon who come to the hospital for checkup after feeling ill with symptoms like fever, cough with phlegm and mild diarrhea but doctor in the hospital advised him to go home because he was okay.

After a couple of days, the patient died without ever being tested for the coronavirus disease.

According to the report of GMA News, his wife narrated that Edgar was just given antibiotic but no swab test.

She also said that fever of his husband did not subside after the hospital checkup until his condition gradually lose his sense of taste.

The patient was rushed to the hospital on March 27 but declared dead on arrival after trying to revived him.

“Pagdating naman sa ospital… pinasok siya do’n sa tent ng PUI, pinipilit siyang i-revive nang mga 30 minutes,” his wife said.

“Sabi nila, wala na raw. Ta’s sabi ko, ‘Sana mai-test man lang asawa ko.’ Sabi nila, iisa na lang daw ‘yung pantest, para na lang daw do’n sa PUI na nando’n,” she added.

The dead body of Edgar was immediately cremated without being confirmed for coronavirus disease.

The incident feared the neighborhood causing discrimination against his family in Barangay Progreso in San Juan.

Anne, said she was prohibited by their neighbors to leave her house and even sent away a GrabFood driver attempting to deliver food to their house.

She is requesting the health department to have testing in order to clear the issue stoned against her but she does not know where to go.

“Ba’t kaya hanggang ngayon, hangga’t ‘di ka nakakapagbigay sa kanila na negative ka, ico-condemn ka nila. Masakit, ‘di ba?” she added.
