Just In: 65-years-old Woman from Purok Bayanihan, Brgy. Banago, Negros Occidental Tested Positive in COVID-19

According to Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, the Bacolod City Chairman of the Inter-Agency Task Force Against COVID-19, a 65-year-old woman from Purok Bayanihan, Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City Negros Occidental has tested positive for the coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19.

During the interview of the spokesperson of the Bacolod Inter-Agency Task Force Against Covid-19, Dr. Grace Tan on the Aksyon Radyo, she said that the patient had a check-up at the Bacolod Respiratory Outpatient or BRO Center at the BAYS Center on April 17 due to the symptoms of cough, throat itchiness, and loss of appetite.

On April 20, the swab test of the patient was sent to the Western Visayas Medical Center and was found positive for the virus.

According to Dr. Tan, the patient has no travel history and has no exposure to the COVID-19 patient, however, she got the virus on her local trips.

As of now, the patient was undergoing home-quarantine and she is now showing no symptoms of the respiratory illness.

Dr. Tan also validated if the patient had already finished taking her maintenance on her Tuberculosis.

Earlier, there are 10 persons who got contact on the patient that was trace by the Bacolod IATF.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tan has visited the place of the patient to access the situation and to execute the lockdown on the province.

The woman was the Patient 9 of the City that was tested positive for COVID-19.
