The Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Leonor Briones is now tested negative for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Recently, the 79-years-old secretary said that she is asymptomatic for the COVID-19. However, on Monday, she said in an interview on the morning show Unang Hirit on GMA network, that her results have come out to be negative.
She said, “Good news. Early this morning nagtext sa akin si [Health] Secretary [Francisco] Duque na ang resulta ng test ko ay negative (Secretary Duque texted me and said the result of my test is negative),” this was after four days since she announced announce that she is positive for the illness.
Recalling, on April 9, she announced to the public about her condition, the day after she receives the positive results of her COVID-19 test on April 8
According to Briones, more than 20 of her staff members are also in isolation. And she is still waiting for there test results for her to report it to there family.
Briones is the second Cabinet official to catch the coronavirus disease. The first one is Interior Secretary Eduardo Año.
