Confirmed New Positive Case for COVID-19 in Negros Occidental

The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental has confirmed that there is a new positive case for COVID-19 in the province.

Starting this week, there are more exemptions that will allow following the number of people testing negative for the disease. Also, public transportation is prohibited under certain rules.

Recalling, the province of Negros Occidental is undergoing the implemented Enhanced Community Quarantine which started last March 30 and is scheduled to end on April 30, 2020. And since at the time that the ECQ started, there were no cases of COVID-19 in both the province and city that was headed by Governor Eugenio “Bong” Lacson.

However, last night, there was a report that there is a man that tested positive for coronavirus. The man was from La Castellana, Negros Occidental. The new case alarmed the people of Negros once again as the disease comes up again in the province.

As of the report, a patient is a 42-year-old man who came from Pavia, Iloilo. Iloilo City has also cases of COVID-19.

Negros Occidental Provincial Governor Bong Lacson has confirmed about the new positive case for COVID-19 in the province, based on a report of TV Patrol Negros.

Based on the post, there were two people the man had contacted in Iloilo, they also tested positive for COVID-19. The patient went home from Iloilo on March 13 and undergone home quarantine until March 28.

On April 5 and 6, the patient had a fever and diarrhea but refuses to go for a check-up. And it was April 5 when his employers in Iloilo have tested positive for COVID-19 and he has informed him last April 8.

On April 11, he informed the local government of La Castellana and undergoes quarantined at a local facility. The next day his swab test was taken and it was sent last April 13.

In addition, there were also 3 persons who are under investigation for COVID-19 in Negros Occidental. Health authorities will be going to La Castellana for contact tracing.
