Netizens slam ABS-CBN over Metro Manila lockdown Draft Posts due to Coronavirus outbreak on Thursday, March 12, 2020. As of today, there are 3 patients died due to Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as reported by the Department of Health.

DOH reported that the deaths of three (3) confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines are the number patients PH6, PH5, and PH37.

ABS-CBN official Facebook page stated “Nakatakdang humarap sa sangbayanan si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ngayong Huwebes ng gabi sa gitna ng pagdami ng kaso ng COVID-19.” President Duterte places Metro Manila under lockdown due to COVID-19.

Netizens express reaction to the said post clarifying the statement from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the later found out that the agency did not declare lockdown as what other social media posts stated. “Contrary to some reports circulating in the social media, please be advised that the PNP has not issued any order for a lockdown in the NCR. It is only the NDRRMC that can issue such an order to address the current public health emergency. Nonetheless, the PNP is continuously enhancing its preparations to address any contingency. We will update you of any development as the need arises.”

ABS-CBN admits posting a draft of Metro Manila lockdown is a big mistake and issued an explanation regarding this matter. “Earlier today, ABS-CBN News inadvertently posted a draft art card on COVID-19 situation while preparing for possible scenarios. There remains to be no declaration of a lockdown in Metro Manila as of this time. We deeply regret the error. We are instituting disciplinary measures against personnel involved in the erroneous posting.”
