Utah Jazz NBA Star Donovan Mitchell has Tested Positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The NBA announced it has suspended the 2019-20 season following Wednesday’s games until further notice. The league will use this hiatus to determine the next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.

On Monday, Rudy Gobert joked with members of the media by making sure to touch all the mics and recording devices reporters had placed on the table in front of him. Wednesday, he became Patient Zero for the NBA when he tested positive for the virus.

Breaking News! Mitchell has tested positive for coronavirus, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. He is the second player known to have tested positive, with teammate Rudy Gobert being the first.

“Jazz star Donovan Mitchell has tested positive for the coronavirus, league sources tell ESPN. Jazz players privately say that Rudy Gobert had been careless in the locker room touching other players and their belongings. Now a Jazz teammate has tested positive,” said ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

As of March 12, 2020, the latest update of Coronavirus Worldwide, more than 129,775 people have been infected and over 4,751 have died worldwide from the novel coronavirus, have reached some 80 countries and territories. There are 68,672 recovered from the epidemic disease.
