JUST IN: Suspected Patient in Caloocan City CONFIRMED POSITIVE of Coronavirus

Suspected coronavirus patient admitted in the hospital in Tala Caloocan tested positive of COVID-19.

The report about the positive result of the patient was confirmed by Caloocan 1st District Representative Along Malapitan.

Recently, the cases of suspected patients in the country drastically increase since the two (2) patients proven positive for coronavirus disease. One of the two patients was a Filipino. The fifth case of positive coronavirus was detected to a 62-year-old was of a local transmission, hence, prompting the Department of Health and the government issued class and work suspension in different areas in Luzon. The DOH also confirmed the wife of the 62-year-old tested positive also of the COVID-19.

The drastic increase of the coronavirus cases in the country started from 2 and increase to 6 then 10 tested positive of coronavirus On Monday, March 9, 2020 the DOH reported 24 before the end of the day. Another 9 new cases of positive patients were recorded by the health authorities on the following day marking the total of 33 as of today.

Local government units with reported Person Under Monitoring (PUM) or Person Under Investigation (PUI) will have to coordinate with the DOH to give updates about their patients’ situation. There are also reported suspected cases in the city of Quezon, Pasig and Marikina and outside Luzon.

According to Malapitan, the said patient tested positive of coronavirus in Caloocan City is not a resident of their city. The LGU found out that the patient is from San Jose Del Monte City in Bulacan. Based on the report, there are three (3) other Person Under Investigation(PUI) admitted in the same hospital.

Caloocan Representative told reporter that the three patients were showing coronavirus symptoms. Malapitan also narrated that two of the three patients were from Greenhills in San Juan.
