DOH Records 1st Coronavirus Case in Cebu, Mandaue City

The Department of Health (DOH) recorded the first COVID-19 patient in Cebu is a 65-year-old man admitted at Chong Hua Hospital in Mandaue City. He is the 188th patient who tested positive of Coronavirus (COVID-19). DOH recorded (March 18, 2020) a total of 202 cases have been reported nationwide with COVID-19, 17 dead and 7 having recovered the disease according to the Department of Health.

According to the Health Department in Central Visayas, the patient is now recovering and will be discharged after further testing. The patient 188th has no history traveled outside in the Philippines, the patient went to different cities in Metro Manila and Mindanao.

The City officials are now trying to find out how he got infected by the viral disease (COVID-19). First Coronavirus Case in Negros Oriental, Lanao del Sur, Davao de Oro, and Cebu City. President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night (March 16, 2020) declared the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon to stop the further spread of COVID-19.

Mandaue City reported that it has 37 patients under investigation for the disease, while 64 people are under monitoring for the disease.
