Coronavirus Summary of Cases in Western Visayas Update on Persons Under Investigation (PUI)

The Department of Health had seen an increase of coronavirus cases in the past few days since the first case reported by the DOH.

Currently, the total number of patients infected with coronavirus in the country spikes up to as many as 24 confirmed cases as of March 10, 2020. The last 4 coronavirus cases were announced by President Duterte during the press conference making the total of 24 confirmed cases.

This is the reason President Duterte placed the country under a state of public health emergency prompting class suspension in Metro Manila from March 10-14 in certain areas in order to contain the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, in the area of Western Visayas, health authorities issued the summary of suspected coronavirus cases yet, the government agency clarifies that there are no confirmed coronavirus cases in the Western Visayas as of writing.

The summary of suspected coronavirus disease in the list are considered only as “Persons Under Monitoring (PUM)” and “Persons Under Investigation” (PUI).

In Bacolod City, there are 23 PUM as per record of the health department. According to the city health office they voluntarily informed the city for their concern and admitted they have traveled history, they are now under quarantine of not less than 14 days. After they have completed the quarantine period, the City Health Office will issue certification to clear their case.
