The coronavirus death cases in the Philippines continue increasing since the first locally transmitted patient died in the hospital.
According to the report, the second coronavirus patient died in the country was also the same person with patient ID PH35 died as the first local case recorded by the Department of Health (DOH) traced with no travel history abroad. The patient confined in Manila Doctors Hospital and identified as the wife of Senate resource speaker who was also tested positive for the disease and is reportedly in critical condition.
Yesterday night, Thursday, March 12, 2020, the DOH issued another confirmation of additional three (3) death of coronavirus patients which number of death toll rise to five (5).
Health authorities identified the late patients with their ID’s as PH5, PH6, and PH37. The DOH also noted that two (2) of the patients got underlying conditions.
The total number of confirmed coronavirus patients in the country spikes up to the total of fifty-two (52).
During the press conference of the president Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday evening, March 12, 2020, he ordered to put Metro Manila into a “community quarantine.” The proclamation of the president includes class suspension and strict control of travels by land, sea and air to-and-fro Metro Manila which will start suspension on Sunday, March 15, 2020.
