Just In: NO TSUNAMI threat in the Philippines following the magnitude 7.4 Earthquake Hits near Moluccas, Indonesia

Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) announces that there is NO Tsunami threat in the Philippines following the magnitude 7.4 earthquake recorded off Moluccas, Indonesia, Friday at 12:18 a.m.

According to Phivolcs, A major earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.4 occurred in Molucca Sea on 2019 November 15 at 12:18 AM (Philippine Standard Time) located at 1.5 °N, 126.4 °E with depth of 062 km. No destructive tsunami threat exists based on available data.

Indonesia’s Meteorology and Geophysics Agency withdrew a tsunami alert it had issued after the earthquake, and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no threat in the Pacific.
