Magnitude 6.9 earthquake hit Canhadugan and Jaro Leyte in Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PIVOLCS) recorded around 04:03:54 PM on Thursday, July 6, 2017 with the Location of 11.16°N, 124.71° E – 008km S 67° W of Jaro, Leyte.

PIVOLCS said, Tectonic is the manner of movement of the earth’s crust. After shocks are expected, so everyone must be alert for safety measure.

As of today, there is no advisory for tsunami threat in the Eastern Visayas for that earthquake.

According to source, recorded intensities are as follows:

  • Intensity 5 – Tacloban City
  • Intensity 4 – Tolosa, Leyte
  • Intensity 3 – Bogo City, Cebu
  • Intensity 1 – Roxas City
